Bekijjk nog meer reacties van regisseurs Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead), Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Old Guard), Barry Jenkins (Moonlight), Alma Har’el (Honey Boy), Roland Emmerich (Independence Day) en Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep) hieronder:
🥺 Well this sucks. Every single person who worked at the Arclight loved movies, and you felt it. Sending love to every usher, manager and projectionist who rocked that blue shirt and made it such a special place.

I have so many great and proud memories of the Arclight and Pacific Theatres, (the Dome, Arclight Hollywood, The Americana and Grove too). But I don’t want to post my thoughts in the past tense as I don’t want to write an obituary. My first thought was, what can be done to help?

This is so painful. The Arclight is my go-to. Clean, great sound, assigned stadium seating, great popcorn, usher movie introductions. A true movie-going experience. 🤬 https://t.co/EtkfA9sMCx

Shout out to the ushers who introduced the films to the audience, (they had to audition for it), I love you.
And to the little costume exhibitions in glass cases.

To the big clock over the ticket counter that shows how much time you have till your film starts so your waiter at the restaurant can serve you quickly enough. They would ask before they sat you down and wrote it on a note.

To the LA film lovers who are now at the mercy of streamers and Tik Tok. Where do we go now?

Thank you ArcLight Cinemas and Pacific Theatres for the many wonderful cinematic experiences. Cinephiles will certainly miss the iconic Cinerama Dome, which is such an integral part of the Los Angeles movie culture! https://t.co/iMSqGj89sI

If the Arclight is really going away, I will be crushed – it is such an integral part of my life in Los Angeles. I have been so, SO looking forward to the day when this is all over and I could go back to @ArcLightCinemas…
