The Croods: A New Age werd afgelopen weekend nipt van de troon gestoten door Monster Hunter aan de Amerikaanse box-office, maar versloeg de twee andere nieuwkomers Tenet en Greenland op video-on-demand in het land.

Daardoor is de top drie van Apple TV, FandangoNOW en Google Play voor het eerst identiek: The Croods: A New Age staat op één, Tenet op twee en Greenland op drie.

De VOD-release van de Croods-sequel stond oorspronkelijk pas voor deze week gepland, maar werd met een week vervroegd om concurrentie met Soul op Disney+ en Wonder Woman 1984 op HBO Max te vermijden. Beide verschijnen op 25 december.

Tenet stelt dan weer mogelijk teleur omdat de film al het merendeel van zijn doelpubliek heeft bereikt in de bioscoop, maar toch net als The Croods: A New Age en Greenland 19,99 dollar kost om te huren.

Verder doet Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom het op Netflix beter dan andere awardskandidaten van de streamingdienst zoals Ron Howards Hillbilly Elegy en David Finchers Mank.

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom kwam in de VS binnen op één in de lijst met Netflix’ populairste films en is ook de populairste allroundtitel op de streamingdienst.
