Metacritic, een website die recensies verzamelt, heeft onthuld welke tien 2021-films de hoogste score kregen. De top drie bestaat uit Quo vadis, Aida? met Johan Heldenbergh, gevolgd door de docu Summer of Soul en Céline Sciamma’s Petite maman.

Verder lijstte Metacritic ook de films die het vaakst voorkwamen in de individuele top tien van de critici. Jane Campions The Power of the Dog werd het meeste vermeld, gevolgd door de Japanse Oscarinzending Drive My Car en Paul Thomas Andersons Licorice Pizza.
