De moderne western Let Him Go met Kevin Costner en Diane Lane is na de horrorfilm Come Play de tweede film van Universal die in de VS drie weken na zijn bioscooprelease al beschikbaar is op video-on-demand.

Let Him Go deed het beter dan Come Play en werd de nummer één op de platformen Apple TV en FandangoNow. Het is wachten op de VOD-release van The Croods: A New Age op 23 december om te zien of Universals strategie op lange termijn succesvol is.

Verder doet The New Mutants het nog goed met een eerste plaats op de platformen Spectrum en Google Play. The New Mutants en de actiekomedie Fatman met Mel Gibson als de Kerstman zijn de enige twee films die op de vier platformen in de top tien staan.

Ook de komedie Buddy Games met Josh Duhamel scoort en haalde op alle platformen behalve Spectrum de tweede plaats. Op Netflix werd Ron Howards Hillbilly Elegy na één dag onttroond door The Christmas Chronicles 2.
