Regiedebuten Halle Berry, Viggo Mortensen en meer geselecteerd voor Toronto 2020
Toronto International Film Festival heeft de selectie van zijn corona-editie aangekondigd. Daartoe behoren de regiedebuten van twee acteurs, Halle Berry’s Bruised en Viggo Mortensen Falling, plus de eerste bioscoopfilm van Regina King, One Night in Miami.
De selectie bestaat voor 46 procent uit films van vrouwelijke (co)regisseurs, een stijging van tien procent vergeleken met vorig jaar en een nieuw record.
Verder staan ook Werner Herzogs documentaire Fireball: Visitors from Darker Worlds en acht films met het Cannes 2020-label op het programma.
Het gaat om Falling, Dea Kulumbegashvili’s Beginning, François Ozons Été 85, Ben Sharrocks Limbo, Suzanne Lindons Seize printemps en zoals eerder aangekondigd Francis Lee’s Ammonite, Thomas Vinterbergs Druk en Naomi Kawase’s True Mothers.
