Nominaties 87ste Oscaruitreiking onthuld
In Los Angeles heeft men de genomineerden bekendgemaakt voor de 87ste editie van de Oscars. De namen van de kanshebbers werden live aangekondigd door Star Wars-regisseur J.J. Abrams, Gravity-cineast Alfonso Cuaron, acteur Chris Pine en Cheryl Boone Isaacs, het hoofd van de Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).
De categorie Beste Film bestaat dit jaar uit de titels American Sniper, Boyhood, Birdman, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Selma, The Theory of Everything en Whiplash.
De Vlaams-Koerdische Sahim Omar Kalifa veroverde geen nominatie voor zijn kortfilm Baghdad Messi. Marion Cotillard redt de Belgische eer een beetje met een nominatie voor haar vertolking in Deux jours, une nuit van de broertjes Dardenne.
De uitreiking van de Academy Awards vindt plaats op 22 februari in het Dolby Theatre te Hollywood. Gastheer van dienst is Neil Patrick Harris.
