Gisterenavond vonden in Los Angeles de 26e Screen Actors Guild Awards plaats. Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite won er als eerste niet-Engelstalige film de hoofdprijs Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

Joaquin Phoenix werd dan weer door zijn collega’s uitgeroepen tot Beste Acteur voor zijn rol in Joker en Renée Zellweger (Judy) ging met de prijs voor Beste Actrice aan de haal.

Aangezien veel leden van de acteursgilde ook lid zijn van de Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences worden de SAG Awards als een voorspeller van de Oscars beschouwd.
