Is Nicolas Cage-horrorfilm Color Out of Space de nieuwe Mandy?
Color Out of Space isn't the next Mandy, but it does have more alpaca-related dialogue than your average Lovecraft adaptation. Some gnarly (and very '90s) creature feature design, too. Pretty sure Cage is channeling Randy Quaid from Parents, right down to the spectacles. #TIFF19

COLOR OUT OF SPACE is a midnight movie if I’ve ever seen one. Nic Cage outbursts, insane visuals, unrelenting body horror. Like if The Thing (1982) and Signs had a fucked up, glowing pink baby.

COLOR OUT OF SPACE really went for the Lovecraftian themes of madness and incomprehensibility. An absolutely wild piece of filmmaking, Stanley took so many risks and most of them paid off. Plus Colin Stetson’s score slaps.

Admire how bold and colourful COLOR OUT OF SPACE is, and loved the majestic Nick Cage freakouts. But it takes too long to get to the good stuff. I'm certain there is an audience for all the wtf on display here. It unfortunately wasn't me. #TIFF19

COLOR OUT OF SPACE: Cage is great in almost every scene. Once it gets to the final act it's a delight and great adaptation. But boy does it take some time to get to the great stuff. Family dynamic kinda kills the vibe. #TIFF19
