Vandaag zijn de genomineerden voor de 92e Academy Awards aangekondigd. Todd Phillips’ Joker kreeg de meeste nominaties, namelijk elf in totaal. Sam Mendes’ 1917, Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman en Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood kregen er elk tien.

Nog opmerkelijk: Scarlett Johansson werd zowel genomineerd voor Beste Actrice (Marriage Story) als voor Beste Actrice in een Bijrol (Jojo Rabbit). Bovendien bevind zich onder de kanshebbers voor beste live-action kortfilm een Belgische productie, namelijk Une soeur met Veerle Baetens.
