De Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences heeft de nominaties van de 93e Academy Awards bekendgemaakt.

Sound of Metal van het Belgische productiehuis Caviar sleepte zes Oscarnominaties in de wacht, namelijk voor Beste Film, Beste Acteur (Riz Ahmed), Beste Acteur in een Bijrol (Paul Raci), Beste Originele Scenario (Derek Cianfrance, Abraham Marder, Darius Marder) en Beste Geluid.

Da Yie van de Belgisch-Ghanese Anthony Nti stond op de shortlist voor Beste Kortfilm, maar werd niet genomineerd. Het Tunesische The Man Who Sold His Skin met Koen De Bouw en het Bosnische Quo vadis, Aida? met Johan Heldenbergh werden dan weer wel genomineerd in de categorie Beste Internationale Film.
