Eerste reacties op Lars von Triers The House That Jack Built online
I’ve never seen anything like this at a film festival. More than 100 people have walked out of Lars von Trier’s ‘The House That Jack Built,’ which depicts the mutilation of women and children. “It’s disgusting,” one woman said on her way out.

Sadistic murder porn that inspired more than a few walkouts. But such is usually Von Trier’s MO #cannes2018 #TheHouseThatJackBuilt

Lars Von Trier’s The House That Jack Built is an ordeal of gruesomeness and tiresomeness, quite as exasperating as I feared, but leading to what I have to admit is a spectacular horror finale. Review later #Cannes2018 #Cannes71 #Cannes

I've just walked out of #LarsVonTrier premiere at #Cannes2018 because seeing children being shot and killed is not art or entertainment

why can’t Lars von Trier just make a normal fcking movie for once. pushing limits is one thing but he’s just a complete sadist expressing his narcissism and contempt for the world through his art.

Seeing a lot of “what were they expecting?!” in regards to disgust at the Lars von Trier movie.
Understanding a filmmaker’s general leanings and being repulsed by a specific piece of work are not mutually exclusive.

Lars von Trier really is on some next level feminist trolling with the characters in THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT. #Cannes2018 pic.twitter.com/agJYf1GXVO
