Carrells The Office-tegenspeelster Amy Ryan vertolkt Nics moeder.

BEAUTIFUL BOY is directed by Felix van Groeningen in a style that can't help but recall Jean-Marc Vallée: Lots of natural light, flashbacks wafting through scenes like a soft breeze, music the engine for it all. Call it the uncanny Vallée.

Timothee was fantastic. Steve was very good. Movie is relentless. #BeautifulBoy #TiFF

As someone that has seen addiction up close 'Beautiful Boy' is a tough watch. The film doesn't sugar coat anything. Both Steve Carell and Timothee Chalamet are fantastic. Absolutely recommended. #TIFF18 pic.twitter.com/1OStsoYS9x

BEAUTIFUL BOY: Chalamet somehow finds new emotional ground to mine in a relatively familiar story of the pain of addiction. He’s so phenomenal that he makes it easy to overlook the flaws of the film.

#BeautifulBoy is one of the most brutally honest and emotionally gut wrenching films I’ve ever seen. Doesn’t hold back, shows the raw unfiltered truth of substance addiction. Carell and Chalamet give 2 of the best performances of the year. Difficult watch but exceptional #TIFF18

BEAUTIFUL BOY: OMG. Amazing movie. So deep, gripping, engrossing, powerful & heartbreaking. #SteveCarell has never been better. #TimotheeChalamet tops his Oscar-nominated performance in Call Me By Your Name. A beautiful movie, then some. #TIFF18 pic.twitter.com/ULBpEPp1MZ

Just screened #BeautifulBoy, a story about a father trying to help his son through drug addiction. Watching this after the news of Mac Miller and having a brother who struggles with addiction. EMOTIONAL. I am overwhelmed with emotion. My gawd. Timothée. Touching. #TIFF18 pic.twitter.com/LrPbS85Iah

BEAUTIFUL BOY isn’t the kind of movie you really “enjoy” — but it’s a heart breakingly raw look at how addiction isn’t one of those things that “happens to other people.” It can happen to all of us.
Carell/Chalamet are astounding together.

BEAUTIFUL BOY: Hit me in ways I didn’t expect. Maybe the best film I’ve seen about the feeling of addiction since REQUIEM FOR A DREAM; albeit on the other side. Carell is solid. Chalamat incredible. More than once all I thought was: I miss you Dad. #TIFF18

Timothée Chalamet is next-level sublime in #BeautifulBoy, but let it be known the most satisfying part of the movie is watching a teary-eyed Maura Tierney front a high-speed chase scene driving a red minivan. #TIFF #TIFF18 pic.twitter.com/PMBMu4oZeh

BEAUTIFUL BOY is some heartbreaking, grim stuff, makes you feel the helplessness of dealing with drug addiction in your bones. Timothee Chalamet once again proves he’s the real deal, though, what a performance. #TIFF

#BeautifulBoy was incredibly heartbreaking, emotional and gripping. All performances were lovely, but @RealChalamet & @SteveCarell as father and son were superb. Don’t miss this when it releases! #Tiff18
