Drie weken voor de bioscooprelease heeft de filmpers zijn mening gegeven  over Mary Poppins Returns.

Hoewel de sequel niet bij iedereen in de smaak viel, wordt hij door het leeuwendeel van de critici positief onthaald. Sommigen spraken van een brok ouderwetse Disney-magie en Emily Blunts vertolking van Mary Poppins werd herhaaldelijk geprezen.

#MaryPoppinsReturns is…not for me. Emily Blunt is the only person who could have played that role, and she does a commendable job. But the movie just attempts to recreate too much of the original, and totally fails to recapture its magic.
