Met de Amerikaanse bioscooprelease van F9 op 25 juni in zicht, zijn de eerste recensies en reacties verschenen. De negende Fast & Furious-film haalt in België op 14 juli de zalen.

Volgens IndieWire is het de grootste, belachelijkste en intiemste Fast & Furious-film tot nu toe en de beste sinds Fast & Furious 6.

ScreenDaily noemt F9 heerlijk absurd, maar te melodramatisch en niet verfrissend genoeg.

Variety vindt dat de film te veel stilstaat bij zijn voorgangers en de actie ofwel lachwekkend, ofwel saai is.

Wat The Hollywood Reporter betreft, is F9 vaak saai, constant over the top en zijn de actiescènes grotendeels idioot.
