Harry Potter- en Skyfall-actrice Helen McCrory overleden
Actrice Helen McCrory is op 52-jarige leeftijd na een gevecht met kanker overleden. Ze was vooral bekend van haar rol als Narcissa Malfoy, de moeder van Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton), in de laatste drie Harry Potter-films.
McCrory speelde ook mee in onder meer Stephen Frears’ The Queen, Martin Scorsese’s Hugo, Sam Mendes’ Skyfall en A Little Chaos van haar Harry Potter-collega Alan Rickman met Kate Winslet en Matthias Schoenaerts.
Verder was McCrory te horen in Wes Andersons animatiefilm Fantastic Mr. Fox en te zien in de tv-series Peaky Blinders en Penny Dreadful.
McCrory’s echtgenoot, acteur Damien Lewis (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Band of Brothers), deelde het nieuws van haar overlijden op Twitter.
Verder hebben onder meer Harry Potter-schrijfster J.K. Rowling, The Queen-actrice Helen Mirren en Peaky Blinders-acteur Cillian Murphy op sociale media een laatste groet aan McCrory gebracht.
