Fountains of Wayne-bassist & filmcomponist Adam Schlesinger overleden aan gevolgen van coronavirus
De Amerikaanse muzikant en Fountains of Wayne-bassist Adam Schlesinger is op tweeënvijftigjarige leeftijd overleden aan de gevolgen van het coronavirus.
Hij werkte mee aan tal van films zoals That Thing You Do!, waarvoor hij onder meer het titelnummer schreef en een Oscarnominatie kreeg.
Verder waren zijn liedjes te horen in There’s Something About Mary, Me, Myself & Irene, Josie and the Pussycats, Scary Movie, Shallow Hal, Insomnia, Two Weeks Notice, Robots, Music and Lyrics en Ice Age: Continental Drift.
Tot slot verzorgde hij ook muziek voor tv-series als Crazy Ex-Girlfriend en was niet alleen de medeoprichter van Fountains of Wayne, maar ook van de bands Ivy en Tinted Windows.
Op sociale media wordt Schlesinger herdacht door That Thing You Do!-acteurs Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Jonathan Schaech, Ethan Embry, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend-actrice Rachel Bloom en vele anderen.

I remember the day all the Oneders, @LivTyler and @tomhanks sat in a room and played about 6 submitted tracks from different bands for That Thing You Do. When we heard Adam Schlesinger’s cassette it was instantly clear which track we would need to learn.
