Quentin Tarantino maakt vijfentwintig jaar na Pulp Fiction kans op een tweede Gouden Palm met zijn nieuwe film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. In de aanloop naar de wereldpremière volgende week stelde IndieWire een lijst samen met dertig van Tarantino’s lievelingsfilms, samengesteld uit verschillende lijstjes door de jaren heen.

Tarantino is onder meer fan van Bong Joon-ho’s The Host en Memories of Murder en Pedro Almodóvar The Skin I Live In. De twee regisseurs dingen ook mee naar de Palme d’Or met respectievelijk Parasite en Dolor y Gloria.

Verder weet Tarantino een brede waaier aan films te appreciëren: van spaghettiwesterns (The Good, The Bad and The Ugly) tot het werk van Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, There Will Be Blood) en Aziatische cinema (Audition, Battle Royale en Police Story 3: Super Cop).
