@scottderrickson Your initial statement cast technique as the enemy of emotion, and I think that is the opposite of true.
— Rian Johnson (@rianjohnson) May 11, 2017
@rianjohnson I defiantly don't think of it as the enemy of emotion – not at all. Perhaps the servant of emotion. Radical difference.
— Scott Derrickson (@scottderrickson) May 11, 2017
@scottderrickson Well duh. That’s what I’m saying. Which is not what your original tweet said. Which is what I disagreed with.
— Rian Johnson (@rianjohnson) May 11, 2017
@rianjohnson I said cinema is emotion over technique. Didn't mean to imply technique does not matter. Duh yourself. ?
— Scott Derrickson (@scottderrickson) May 11, 2017
@rianjohnson @scottderrickson hahahaha! I love that you're having this discussion in multiple threads. You're creating tandem timelines ????

@zeldawilliams @scottderrickson This is my nightmare Zelda

@foxdragonnerd I think Scott's tweet bugged me because it fell into the old lazy idea of artlessness equaling honest emotion. Which I think is wrong.
— Rian Johnson (@rianjohnson) May 11, 2017
@rianjohnson @foxdragonnerd Oh man so not my intention.

@scottderrickson @rianjohnson Where's @mang0ld when you need him?
— Christian Villagomez (@DaveyHames) May 11, 2017
@DaveyHames @scottderrickson @rianjohnson Tryin to understand what Scott said. Or maybe I do. If I do, I disagree. Cinema is… is like saying Art is.. or Love is… kinda pointless
— Mangold (@mang0ld) May 11, 2017
@scottderrickson @zeldawilliams Jesus, Scott you are all over the place!
— Mangold (@mang0ld) May 11, 2017
I've been watching @TheLEGOMovie during this entire exchange so I win. #true @rianjohnson @mang0ld @zeldawilliams @Massawyrm
